POSITION SUMMARY

The drying and packaging technician is responsible for the daily drying and packaging of PWA products. Participates in a team in all aspects of the drying and packaging process in accordance with required production operating procedures and schedule demands. Sets up for the days production, removes pans from ovens and dumps product into hopper. Assembles boxes. Weighs and packs product according to established procedures, ensuring product meets specifications. Palletizes packaged product. Cleans and maintains equipment and work area. May also work in other production areas as needed.

Essential Functions Statement(s)

  • Pumps up product from tank into designated pans for ovens. 
  • Removes pans from ovens, pours product into hopper in preparation for sifting. 
  • Assembles and prepares boxes and other packaging materials. 
  • Weighs, packs, and labels sifted product according to established procedures and specifications. 
  • Palletizes packaged product. 
  • Maintains and cleans work area including floors, tables, walls and equipment daily.

SKILLS & ABILITIES

Education

High School Graduate or General Education Degree (GED): Required

Experience

6 plus months of experience in packaging or other production/manufacturing

Computer Skills

Must be proficient with Microsoft Office products and other computer systems to track, log, or record information.

Ability to wear Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) - Safety Glasses, Dust Mask, Respirator

Work Environment

Works primarily in a production/manufacturing environment with some exposure to office and warehouse environments.
